DATACT can automatically place pins on the map using the GPS coordinates embedded in image files (usually JPEGs with EXIF data). This streamlines the process of adding field data by using images taken in the field.

1. Click “Create pins”

• Drag and drop or browse your files to upload. You can upload multiple images at once, and DATACT will generate multiple pins accordingly.

• Make sure the images are JPEG files with embedded GPS coordinates (EXIF data).

  📸 Most smartphones and GPS-enabled cameras include this data automatically.

• Add a name and comment of the pin.

2. Automatic Pin Placement

• DATACT will read the GPS info in each photo and automatically place pins on the map at the correct locations.
• Each pin will be linked to the corresponding image.

3. Review and Edit Pins

• Click on each new pin to view the attached image.
• You can:
  • Add descriptions or notes
  • Use color scale to Tag pins within categories
  • Add files to the pin

7. Save Changes

Once you're done reviewing, click Save to finalize the placement of pins or Delete de pins.
